Dividing A Page In To Sections

The big idea - pages made out of sections which go from horizontal to vertical

1

2

3

On a narrower screen (tablet or phone) becomes

1

2

3

A modern website is typically created in bands which can be re-arranged so instead of being three thirds they can become one column.

The key number here is 12ths

The page is broken in to 12 12ths which means

one wide column

two columns of 6/12ths

three columns of 4/12ths

four columns of 3/12ths

but you could go

1/12th then 5th/12 ths 5th /12ths 1/12th

<div class="col-md-12"> specifies this is going to be a wide column and that will finish with a </div>

<div class="col-md-6"> specifies this is going to be half a page wide so you would need this twice</div>

<div class="col-md-6"> specifies this is going to be half a page wide so you would need this twice </div>

To make a row and 6 could be 4 or 3 depending upon your needs.
